Leading with Heart: Jessica’s Mission to Empower Coqui Unity Athletes

Jessica founded Unity Volley in 2024 with a simple vision: give more young athletes the opportunity to play club volleyball without affordability standing in their way.

After years of working with young athletes through Parks & Recreation, Jessica saw talented players leave the game because families were unaware of club opportunities or simply could not afford them. With encouragement from families she had coached over the years, she took a leap of faith and created Unity Volley.

Today, that vision continues to grow as Unity Volley has become Coqui Unity Volleyball Club, a proud sister club of Coqui Volleyball Club. This partnership allows Coqui Unity to continue building on its original mission while creating an environment focused on skill development, character, and positive, competitive training for our athletes.

More Than Volleyball

Jessica believes success isn’t measured only by wins and losses. Coqui Unity is committed to developing athletes who understand:

  • Hard work is earned, not given
  • Family, unity, and respect come first
  • Sportsmanship and character matter
  • Giving back strengthens our community
  • Leadership extends beyond the volleyball court

As a mother of three daughters, Jessica understands the sacrifices families make to help their children pursue their dreams. She wants every athlete to appreciate those sacrifices while learning the importance of discipline, gratitude, accountability, and giving back.

Jessica’s ultimate vision for Coqui Unity remains the same as it was on day one: develop great volleyball players — but, more importantly, help develop great human beings.

EARNED WITH EFFORT. UNITED WITH PURPOSE.
